I graduated from Brighton secondary college in 2017. I am currently in my first semester of studying IT at RMIT. I’d say that my hobbies would be playing video games (both PC and ps4) as well as watching tv, and by tv i mean netflix, stan and youtube. IT wise, i’d say i’m pretty interested in programming and creating programs using this, and i have had very little experience with IT in my junior years.

Learning style test:

Big five personality test:

These test results will be useful to my team because it displays my personality type, where my group members will be able to know what I am and am not so capable of doing in the project. The results also show how I am able to comprehend and understand information presented to me, which may also help my group members and myself in understanding new information. I am therefore able to play a role within my team where I am best suited based on my test results, such as being the team’s information organiser.

Job analysis

Support analyst:

A support analyst, which is responsible for providing technical support to users for hardware, software and peripherals. This pretty similar to a Systems administrator as both relate to up keeping, however a systems administrator is more focused on installing and working on systems for clients and businesses, whilst an Analyst is more focused on an individual user’s issues. The similarities between a software developer and a support analyst are kind of minor, but both are IT jobs and deal with computers and their systems, however where An analyst would make sure things are running smoothly by using software and hardware, a software engineer is actually creating software and similar systems, through complex programming languages. Between a support analyst and an economics regulator there are quite a few differences, but the major one is that they are in different fields of work, IT and economics respectively, so an analyst works with computers and systems to ensure the users computers work properly and without issues, whilst an economic regulator uses economics to deal with the financials of a company or client.

Economic regulator

A senior economic regulator has some similarities to the other chosen ideal jobs of my group members. However, these similarities are not IT related as my chosen career is not within the IT field. Some of the similarities of my chosen job compare with that of the Support Analyst and the System Administrator as they both involve fairly good communication and problem solving skills. The Economic Regulator job is particularly differentiated from the other 3 IT related professions. This is because a senior economic regulator must deal with a broader spectrum of problems existing within the economy such as protecting the environment and remedying market failure. Within the IT field however, support technicians/analysts/administrators may be only dealing with the problems faced within a small company or business, and providing solutions for those problems/interfaces.

Software developer

A software developer job is to make programs using Java, JavaScript, CSS, etc. This job is different to System Administrator job as System Administrator requires to keep the organisation’s computer up to date. Similar to this job, Support Analyst requires to solve technical issues and problems. This both jobs is different to that of a Software Developer. Economic Regulator job is also different to Software developer as Economic regulator is required to think on economic issues and provide advice.
